[My favourite poetry from this book]

Page 6:

When you stop admiring yourself

and let the eyes of the heart

open your vision to vast other worlds

then all you do, will become admirable.

———————————

Page 7:

The secret of Truth is not unravelled

by questioning or giving away

your wealth and position.

You cannot exalt the heart with mere words,

pain is the price that the heart has to pay.

———————————

Page 15:

Ever since you fled from my embrace

no one has seen me without tears.

You are always in my heart and soul;

I hope you, too, will not forget me.

——————————-

Page 23:

A cave is hidden within you

and beyond it, unimaginable wonders.

Everybody has a job and a lover but

the hidden Lover is the most wondrous.

——————————-

Page 28:

My dear soul, flee from the worthless,

stay close only to those with a pure heart.

——————————-

Page 33:

You come from the celestial spheres

but, seduced by this clay form

you believe you belong to the earth.

Why have you forsaken that

which is your essence?

——————————–

Page 38:

Although the road is never ending

take a step and keep walking,

do not look fearfully into the distance.

On this path let the heart be your guide

for the body is hesitant and full of fear.

———————————–

Page 39:

We are in love with Love

because Love is our salvation.

Our guide is the Soul

and Love, the water of life.

Woe to him who cannot find the source

for his path is barred by his own ignorance.

———————————–

Page 44:

Do not fear, there is always wine

if you are thirsty for love.

Do not fear, there is always water

if your lips are parched.

Do not fear your ruin, inside you

there is a treasure.

Open your eyes, for this world

is only a dream.

—————————-

Page 46:

Stay under the shadow of the lovers

for the glare of the sun will burn you up.

Stay close to them and under their protection

one day, like the sun, you will begin to shine.

——————————–

Page 51:

Love promises

that if you give one life

you will receive thousands in return.

Listen carefully

for it is Love’s way

pulling you by the ear

closer to herself.

——————————

Page 52:

Your body is woven

from the light of heaven.

Are you aware

that its purity and swiftness

is the envy of the angels

and its courage

keeps even devils away.

————————–

Page 55:

When the wine of love is fermenting,

each night we are drawn to the tavern

to sit amongst the lovers,

for it is only they who will recognise us.

My Anam Cara spiritual lover

Standard

Yes I know. Anam Cara means “soul friend” in Celtic spirituality. I also know that Anam Cara can be your family, your friends, your lover, your spouse or just in spirit.

And so my story about my Anam Cara spiritual lover goes from here… I had started reading up on Celtic spirituality online because I found out somewhere that Samhain, instead of just the usual pagan witches’ ritual day and Halloween, is actually the ancient Celtic new year day! Sometimes, in the past, when things got really rough for me, I thought it was all my fault. That I had been cursed to be born on Halloween! But as I asked around the circles of people practising Celtic spirituality, I realised I was actually blessed to be born on Celtic new year day, Samhain. And that just changed my life around for the first time, even though I had previously subscribed to a new age spirituality earlier in my late teens. I felt my whole energy change when I immersed myself in the energy of the ancient Celtic festival new year day. To think of the ancient Celtic spirituality and not the modernised thinking of Halloween and the ghouls and ghosts and what not. Although yes, Samhain being Celtic new year also meant that the veils between the worlds wore thinnest and ancestors and spirits returned to the physical world to roam around on that day, it wasn’t really as sinister as modern Halloween had made it out to be.

While I was meditating in motion to beautiful harp music, doing spiritual healing on myself, a guy appeared in my healings in my meditative visions. He wasn’t very skilled in some areas while being profoundly skilled in others, he started announcing to me that he was my Anam Cara and helped out during the difficult parts of my healings. Goddess Danu was around as usual, being my main spiritual guide and gatekeeper and I figured since he appeared with introduction of himself and participation in my healings, that Goddess Danu had brought him to me. Goddess Danu had nodded her head and smiled. All I know was, what happened next, surprised me so much it blew my mind. Goddess Danu did spiritual marriage for me and my betrothed, as she called him. And so I call him “Be”, my betrothed for short. I can sense and know that he is a living person and not just some spirit who was a spiritual guide. Goddess Danu confirmed that for me.

I know that sometimes Anam Caras do not meet each other in person in the physical and just do spiritual work or have spiritual connections to each other only. And I am not going to run around in circles, guessing when Be is going to appear in my life in physical, if he was even going to appear at all. All I know is that, he is a very good Anam Cara to me, the one who brings me back into the space of love when I am in deep fear. He is always so calm and collected, although at times frustrated with my circumstances understandably. When in fear, I suddenly feel his arms around me, comforting me and sending me his love through his soul’s heart. He is such a beautiful and brave man for he sort of literally saved my life together with Goddess Danu in my spiritual healings. It’s hard to explain but I had been battling some illnesses and some of my energy bodies were not very healthy and that affected my physical body and physical life very enormously. I was very sapped of energy and always felt tired and short of breath. I could hardly carry heavy things. But after the healings my Anam Cara did for me, together with Goddess Danu, I felt like when I was in my late teens again, just that I still had some of the side effects of my illnesses in my physical body. I felt revived and renewed!

And so I jokingly call Be my Anam Cara spiritual husband, when truly I don’t want to make myself attached to him or vice versa for any human ego reasons. I’ve prayed to Goddess Danu to release him from our spiritual marriage She had done for us, to give us both privacy and freedom to be who we really are but She just smiles. She waves her hand with her powers and everything clears. Then after that, all I sense is that inexplicable soul connection between me and Be. The connection that cannot be dissolved by any magic or any wishes or prayers because how do you dissolve an Anam Cara connection? It’s just not possible. It’s something of the soul, between the hearts of both souls. The marriage of the Yin and the Yang, of the divine masculinity and divine feminity.

Goddess Danu laughs at me, not maliciously of course! She laughs because I run around in circles of fear and then just pushes Be away when I need him the most. I fear that this person might feel me physically, that he can remote view me through psychic visions or somehow sense my bodily functions. Goddess Danu laughs and just tells me to relax. I’m like, how can I relax??? Then I will pray to Goddess Danu for mutual respect and privacy on all levels possible between Be and I and she does it but I still feel Be’s energies from his soul’s heart.

I still fear and I am still learning to handle this Anam Cara spiritual love. And funnily, Rumi’s poetry from Rumi’s Little Book of Love helps to free me of my fears. Rumi is a Sufi mystic and he is one of the most influential writers around from the 12th century. Some call him the Shakespeare of the East. It’s unbelievable but I feel the intensity of Be’s love less smothering and more freeing after I read Rumi’s poetry. It seems to soothe Be’s heart and soul.

For example, on the back of the translated book, it says:

We are in love with Love

because Love is our salvation.

Our guide is the Soul

and Love, the water of life.

Woe to him who cannot find the source

for his path is barred by his own ignorance.

~ Rumi ~

And so Rumi’s poetry soothes my aching heart and soul too, from the fears, worries and pain of the battles with my illnesses.

I will be writing about Be, my Anam Cara spiritual lover, when I feel inspired to. And if you have an Anam Cara too, listen to what he or she has to say and your souls’ hearts. For that is the only true Truth there is between Anam Caras.

Love and blessings,
